IMPORTANT: Please use the new Update Procedure (PC3_Update_Procedure-2Part.PDF) to update. This is necessary because the Objects file has grown due to all of the new demo songs, riffs, instrument demos, and Info Tips. The OS and Object files are now too big to fit together on the virtual USB disk drive. They must be copied from the computer and installed one at a time as described in the new procedure. Installation via xD card is unchanged.
NOTE:
- v1.35 is purley an OS maintenance release, fixing a variety of issues found since v1.34 (detailed below). There are no new features.
- There are no new Objects since the last release. Continue using Objects v1.34 (included in this package).
Setup Mode:
- Reordered MIDI messages that get transmitted to the MIDI Out when selecting a Setup such that program changes appear before the rest of the entry values for each channel.
- Fixed a problem where loading a master table from a file along with Setups caused zones with program numbers 1 or 2 to be modified incorrectly.
- Fixed a problem where the wrong release message of Program button 6 was issued when used as a programmable button and set to Momentary.
- Fixed a problem with possible wrong zone display when using Compare after creating or importing zones.
Song Mode:
- Fixed a problem where songs that were 0 ticks long caused a crash when looped.
QA Mode:
- Fixes problem where last entry (10) did not send MIDI Out on the proper MIDI channel.
Storage Mode:
- Fixed a problem where loading a master table from a file could occasionally cause database corruption.
- Now we truncate the old size of a file if we store with overwrite option.
- Now if there is an error while storing, i.e. card full, the error message stays until confirmation button is pressed.
Program Mode:
New Programs from ID 971 to ID 985 including new synth programs, new solo string programs and some more templates.
- "971-973 Solo Strings" - New cello, viola and violin. These use the modwheel to achieve a bowing effect - slowly move the modwheel up and down, mimicking the motion of a real string player - moving the wheel brings in a shaper (VAST) which emulates the sound of scraping rosin. When the wheel is down, one layer is enabled, when the wheel is up, a slightly different layer is enabled. These programs use an fx chain to emphasize the resonant frequencies of the instruments' respective body sizes.
- "974 Electric Cello" - Same modwheel "bowing" effect described above.
- "978 Classic Mini Bass" - A basic VA program, using alg 133, which allows two oscillators to be routed into a single filter, similar to the way classic analog synths were configured.
- "979 TalkWahPoly+Syn" - Distorted guitar plus synth program for soloing, with both hipass and lopass filters assigned to be swept by the modwheel for the "talking" effect.
- "980 MeanWahMono" - Monophonic distorted guitar lead, with both wah and added harmonics assigned to the modwheel.
- "981 Bass Pedal" - Organ bass pedal sound.
- "982 SyncSqr Template" - Simple program with the 2-layer Sync Square running into a 4 pole lopass filter. Good to use as a starting point for sync VA sounds.
- "983 CarpenterSndtrk" - Classic fat polyphonic analog program, emulates the sounds used by John Carpenter on films like Halloween and The Thing.
- "984 ElectromechLead" - We wanted to offer a lead sound that specifically was not a guitar nor an analog synth which still had a good amount of dynamics and expressiveness. The attack has an electromechanical feel (uses a pianet sample) and the rest of the sound combines VA waveforms along with a feedback effect assigned to the modwheel.
- "985 Panner Template" - Simple program which uses a new alg, #132 to enable the VAST panner block. Modwheel is assigned to affect the panner.
Enhancements/Fixes:
- KB3 Leslies: Leslie FX chains were adjusted to remove an exaggerated warble effect that was especially noticeable on the "fast" setting.
- Some KB3 programs were fixed so that the speed of the Leslie control comes up correctly.
- Bug fix: GM programs bend down range was incorrect on some GM programs and is now fixed. Also the Bend parameter (All/Key) on the layer page was fixed for all GM programs.
- Bug fix: You can no longer edit a "Not found" program.
- Bug fix: Compare page in Program mode. The previous page was still "underneath" the compare message which meant that navigation buttons, spin wheel, etc, were still active... causing messy display. Not anymore.
- Bug fix: There was a rare case where cascade mode programs could glitch on note-on when stealing other cascade notes.
- Bug fix: When Attack Portamento is enabled the first note played on the program no longer glides from an arbitrary point.
- Bug fix: Fixed a problem causing glitches and pitch problems in some monophonic programs.
Setup Mode:
- New Arpeggiator feature: Shift Patterns have a new direction: Flat. They could be Up or Down before, now we add the option Flat, which means that they will not change the octave. The notes played will be just the notes specified in the pattern, without automatically making octave changes.
- New Arpeggiator feature: 2 new Arpeggiator Latch modes. We have rescued the Auto Hold latch mode of the K2600 that was not included in the PC2. Also, we have added a particular case of this mode where only 1 note is being latched. This last case is thought to be helpful while using Shift Patterns.
- New Setup Controller Destination: ShKeyNuV. This is exactly the same as ShKeyNum but the velocity of the notes triggered are also affected by the Velocity Pattern. KeyVel sets the velocity and the velocity pattern will modify that velocity.
- New defaults for ShiftPatt and VelPatt. When triggering notes with ShKeyNum or ShKeyNuV, if ShiftPatt is 0, the default would be a chromatic scale, instead of the current shift pattern number 1. When triggering notes with ShKeyNuV, if VelPatt is 0, the default would be no changes in the velocity set by KeyVel.
- Some new patterns added in the arpeggiator.
- Bug fix: conditional release in Riffs (CondRel) now works as advertised.
- Improvement: Previously, when NONE values were used in Arp Shift Patterns, octave changes were not affected by the arp limit, so an arp whose first step was NONE, was triggering that NONE in higher octaves even if the limit was set to 11. This has been fixed. Now NONE will respect the limit and it's value.
Song Mode:
- Capability to record the output of setups into the sequencer (including riffs, arps and tempo changes). To record a Setup into a Song, select song, set RecTrk to MULT, go to Setup and select desired Setup. Press Record, then Play. Perform. Press Stop and save song.
- Better timing for Arps.
- Better looping for riffs, now arps/riffs don't fall out of sync after several bars.
QA Mode:
- Bug fix: Previously, KB3 LEDs would not reflect the proper status when a KB3 program was in the last entry of the bank. This has been fixed.
MIDI Mode:
- Bug fix: When the user edits the Control Setup from the MIDI transmit page and saves it to a new id, the new control setup will be selected. Previously it wasn't.
Master Mode:
- Bug fix: If within Master / Delete / Advance the user deletes everything, the page shown will be the main Master page.
- Bug fix: Numeric entry works now in the Set Clock page.
- Bug fix: Date display is remembered if master table saved.
- Bug fix: If there was not a master table in the system and you went to Master Mode / Object / Delete, selected all banks and all types, the delete was ok but there was an error message at the end. Now any displayed message is always the correct one.
General Enhancements/Fixes:
- Bug fix: When navigating out of various edit modes, in some rare cases, the return page was not the proper one. This has been fixed.
- Bug Fix: Added a fix for SoundTower program pasting bug, which had been especially affecting KB3 programs.
Setup Mode:
- New Feature! - 2 New setup controller destinations: 'Shift Key Number' and 'Shift Key'
(see "PC3v131_NewSetupControllers5.pdf" for details - included in this download).Soundware:
- New Setup - "129 GetBerni Sld GHI"
This Setup illustrates the new Shift Key controllers (see Setup Mode above):
Slider I selects the key.
Slider H selects the velocity.
Slider G plays notes.
Ribbon will also play notes.Program Switches 1 to 4, on/off, each select a different scale... for access to up to 8 scales with these 4 buttons.
Program Switch 8 will unmute or mute Zone4, which has a harmony scale. Remember that in order to hear something in this Zone, once it is unmuted, like in any other zone, a Velocity > 0 should be sent first.
(see "PC3v131_NewSetupControllers5.pdf" for details - included in this download).
Song Mode:
- Better capture of initial tempo and tempo changes.
- Better update of tempo when changed from master, setup, etc.
- Master page tempo/clock source correctly updated in sequencer.
- MTC quarter frame messages could drive the pc3 crazy - fixed.
- SMF 0 with many tempo changes could be exported with some errors - fixed
GM Mode:
- GM metronome drum kit selection shows only GM drums if in channel 10.
- Volume in sequencer and other modes was scaled in a weird way - fixed.
QA Mode:
- Last QA bank remembered in all cases now.
- Changing the channel in QA mode using the category buttons will be remembered when going back to Program mode.
- Changing the channel in QA mode, going to Setup Mode, coming back to QA mode, the channel will be the same one.
Sys-Ex:
- Added basic SysEx support for step patterns, velocity patterns, and intonation tables
- Fixed a problem with processing SysEx "button-press" events
- Changed SysEx handling and fixed bug for object deleting
- Added SysEx button-press support for "REPEAT_EVENT"
General Enhancements:
- Wrong scrolling of Master table in lists (Storage and Master mode) - fixed.
- Potential system reset error after deleting all the objects and before restarting the unit - fixed.
- Transitions between setup/quick access/program mode improved.
- Fixed a few rare cases of KB3 programs starting up with wrong tonewheel volumes or without effects.
- Improved stealer performance when cascade mode is being used.
Soundware:
- New VAST DSP: Hard Sync Square oscillator and Triple Saw have been added. New programs which feature these are in the 900s.
- New synth programs at IDs 962-969 and 986-990.
- New blues harp program (with a cool demo sequence) at ID 970.
- More setups at IDs 94-125. Many feature the new Apreggiator patterns and step sequencers. Lots of techno, "industrial" and funk material.
Setup Mode:
- Step Sequencers and Patterns: In Setup Mode, we've added two step sequencers; one for pitch offsets and one for velocities. There are also pre-programmed patterns with scales, modes, guitar riffs, and rhythmic patterns. Access these on the ArpZone page in Setup Mode. The pitch patterns/step sequencer is the upper right, and the velocity patterns/step sequencer are at the bottom right.
Select "pattern" then move the cursor onto the pattern and hit edit. Each zone in a setup has its own velocity and pitch offset patterns. Up to 16 of each can be playing at once. (This is in addition to the possible 16 Riffs in a setup.)
- Simultaneous Mode: On the ArpZone page in Setup Mode, you can select "Simultaneous" for the Order parameter. This allows for polyphonic arpeggiations.
- Riffs: The parameters on the Riff pages in Setup Mode have been reorganized to be more friendly.
Song Mode:
- Count-off Options: Now it is possible to use count-off in the middle of a sequence.
- Standard MIDI Files: Now type 1 and type 0 are both supported. This includes tempo changes.
- Event Viewing: In the event editor it is possible to view tempo, program #, pan and velocity.
- Tempo Track: Tempo changes can now be recorded and edited in a newly added tempo track. Go into the event editor and scroll down from track 1 and you'll see it.
- Mixer Page: Real-time update/recording of program changes, volume and panning.
- Key Wait: Added to the Misc page in Song Mode. Allows recording/playback to be triggered by the first key strike after hitting Record.
Effects:
- Effects "Performance Mode": Turned on by default. Switch on the Master Page. Turned off by default in Song Mode. Minimizes disruption of existing effects when changing program/setups. Also, entry values no longer disrupt sustained notes when switching programs/setups.
- 3 new distortion algoritms added: "500 Gate+TTubeAmp3", "501 MonoDistT + EQ" and "580 VibChorCabT".
Storage/Memory Enhancements:
- xD Card capacity for Storage Mode (not Boot Loader Mode*) has been increased to support Type M/M+ 1Gb cards.
*NOTE: 1Gb cards are not supported in Boot Loader mode. Type "S" 256Mb cards will still be required for performing OS updates via xD (alternatively OS updates can be performed via USB).- User RAM object capacity increased to support up to 2400 objects total (dependent on individual object sizes).
- USB Storage capacity has been increased from 1Mb to 2Mb
General Enhancements:
- Activity Icon: When loading objects or booting up with large number of user objects which could take a while to be loaded, a small "busy" icon appears.
- "Clickless" Portamento: Seamless transitions in mono programs which use samples. Switch is on the Common page.
- User Intonation Tables: Found on page 2 of the Master Page. Intonation tables can now be edited, stored and saved.
- Name search: Now working in Setup Mode.
- Various bug fixes
8/27/08
Program Editor
- In v 1.20 a bug was introduced where setting the "loop" parameter on Env pages to SegF1-3 and then playing a note, would crash the machine. This has been fixed.
Setup Editor
- In v 1.20 a bug was introduced where if you had Riffs disabled on the Riff1 page and then went to the Riff2 page and moved the data wheel, the machine would reset. This has been fixed.
QA Mode
- In v 1.20 a bug was introduced affecting the proper switching of QA banks which contained multiple KB3 sounds - the KB3 programs continued to sound even though new non-KB3 programs were assigned in the next bank. This has been fixed.
8/22/08
Master Page
- We added a parameter for mirroring primary analog outputs on secondary outputs (and there was much rejoicing!!). The parameter is "Aux Out Pair Mode" on page 1 of the master page and the values are "Mirror Primary Outputs" or "Normal".
- General MIDI - Turn on GM mode with a switch on page 2 of the Master page. A default GM sequence will be loaded, which has settings for FX sends. When you exit the Master page you will now see the set of 128 GM sounds. (The regular PC3 sound set will not be visible until GM is turned off.)
- Drum Remap - Any Kurzweil Kit can now be remapped to conform to the standard GM drum mapping. On the Master page, select "GM" for the Drum Remap parameter. There are 2 Kurzweil drum maps - "Kurz1" and "Kurz2". The first 7 drum programs are "Kurz1" and the others (in Base2 and Classic Keys) are "Kurz2". Flip the switch and they should work.
- Utilities added - MIDIscope and Stealer are now on the Master page. The Stealer can display stereo and mono voices.
NEW KB3 MODE!!
- With improvements in both soundware and software, we've greatly improved the sound quality and accuracy of our KB3 organ simulator. Our main focus was on sounds used by live players, so the FX chains are a bit large. We went all-out to give our users the best possible B3 emulations.
- In software, we fixed the lower tonewheels, drawbar EQ, Percussion, Keyclick and Leslie simulations. In soundware, we tweaked the Leslie ramp up times, mic levels and positions and added some cool tricks with gain staging and distortion.
- We decided to use the sustain pedal as the default secondary Leslie speed switch. The sustain effect has been disabled on all KB3s. We highly recommend the use of a CC pedal for volume swells.
- In addition to the many new KB3 programs, we've added a few VAST organs as well, at ID #s 184 and 959-961.
- We also added 4 new "Dual Manual" setups (starting at ID 90) which use a VAST organ on the left half of the keyboard and a KB3 on the right, both have Leslie switch on the sustain pedal.
- We have made changes to the current sound set, with some additions and changes to the Organ sections. Included in this v1.2 download package is an Excel chart (also offered in two pdf's) detailing the old programs, the new ones and new locations for old programs (/PC3_v120_Object_Lists). We're sorry for any inconvenience this causes - we try to avoid shuffling programs around after initial release, but in this case the difference in quality made it necessary.
New Synth Alg and Sounds!
- We've added a "supersaw" alg, which is 4 blocks. It's 2 detuned saw waves (the anti-aliased kind) and can be selected with Alg 5. New programs which use the alg are at ID # 995.

- Vol and Pan are now updated realtime, and they send vol and pan control changes that can be recorded.
New Programs:
- Added program #1001 "Prohpht V Sync Ld", which showcases the new VAST Sync Saw DSP alg.
- Added program #379 "Falgor'sLament", which is a heavy metal guitar comp sound.
6/7/08
Setups Added:
- Setups added. We now have 75, plus the control, clear and default templates. Included are several important bass/keys and keys/keys splits, several cool "instant music" setups for in-store auditioning, a few with KB3, and a good number of big, lush, layered pad type setups. Also some fun "play along" grooves for blues, funk and rock. Tried to make many of the setups work as good starting points for users to do their own programming.
Demos:
- Demos - every program (except KB3) now has its own demo sequence which can be played by hitting the "play" button while scrolling through programs in Program Mode. Two large demo songs plus 10 smaller ones are also included at the beginning of the list of demo sequences.
Program Buttons:
- PROGRAM buttons 1 to 8 are now programmable in the setups. (These are the buttons above the "category" buttons.) This feature, along with the new controllers added to the setup controllers destination list, like RiffOn, RiffOff, MuteZn, RiffDur, RiffVel, RiffDly, KB3Mutes or TapTempo allows the user a wide range of programmable possibilities to include in their setups, or even in program mode if they program the Control Setup. With this new addition the PC3 has 10 programmable buttons (including ArpSW and SW2 above the wheels), plus all the rest of the controllers. Try hitting these buttons on setups which use riffs.
Tap Tempo:
- The Tap Tempo feature allows the user to update the tempo of the system in real time. There are three ways of doing it: with a quick pop up page that can be called from anywhere just by pressing the LEFT and RIGHT buttons simultaneously, or use the setup destination control TapTempo (168) with any physical controller of the PC3, or you can find it on the master page.
Global Mastering FX:
- Both a 3-band compressor and a 5-band parametric EQ have been added to the output signal path. The settings can be saved globally or per setup, per song, and the order can be switched. So every setup and every sequence now has an extra 7 units of FX resources! The three band compressor sounds amazing on just about everything.
Info Button:
- The Info button in Program Select mode will show very useful information about the current program to the user. This is a nice feature to inform the user about all the cool real time possibilities of each program. Sliders, Modwheel, SW2, CC Pedal2, mono pressure are all covered. In addition, some programs have a sentence or two - the Flea/Bootsy bass and AcidjazzFlute are good examples.
Drawbars/Sliders:
- Drawbars/Sliders toggle in setup mode. This was heavily requested. The KB3Mutes (169) setup destination control, if set in any controller of a setup with a KB3 zone, will allow the user to toggle the functionality of the 9 sliders: Only KB3 drawbars or only the non/KB3 zones user programmed functionality. Example - make a setup with a KB3 on channel 1 and a synth on channel 2. Go to the common page and set "KB3 Control" for the "mutes" field. Now pick a switch - we'll use Sw2, which is simply called "Switch" right next to Arp Sw. Set "on control" to be "KB3 mutes" (enter 169 or scroll to the end of the list). Do this for all zones. Now when you can toggle back and forth between having drawbars or having sliders work on the non-KB3 sounds. Be sure for all layers, to "turn on" the sliders and assign them - just hold enter and move each slider on the "slider" pages.
New Velocity Maps:
- Velocity map fix: The user can select between different Key Action Maps to alter the velocity response of the PC3 in yet another way (Remember that the user can select different MIDI receive or transmit velocity maps and can also adjust the velocity curve in any setup). This action is made to simulate the physical behavior of several FATAR keyboards. Some folks have received units which benefit from a slightly different velocity map than the default. This gives users another choice for customizing the feel of their action. Located on the master page.
Buttons Mode:
- Buttons mode - feature from the K2 Series. When ON, System Exclusive (SysEx) messages are generated by your front panel button presses and sent to the MIDI Out port. This enables you to do two things: control a remote PC3, and/or record sequences of programming button presses to a sequencer or SysEx software package. Located on the master page.
Embedded Editing:
- Programs and Effects can now be edited from within Setup Mode, and Song Mode.
Sequencer:
- Improved audition of old vs new, fixed "rename" function.
- FX pages in sequencer improved.
- Master FX added - "free" 3band compressor and 5 band parametric EQ.
- Input quantization - quantizes in real-time to allow for quantized loop recording. Located on "Misc" page.
- Optimized sequencer memory - much more efficient than V1.0.
- Improved dialog screens and navigation (workflow)
- External sequencer control (song position pointer, start/stop/continue), external clock
- Record/playback realtime event filter - very important for being able to disable monopressure.
- Chasing controls implemented. Located on "Misc" page.
Riffs:
- External sync of riffs and songs. In the sequencer, type "0, then enter" in the tempo field to set the clock to external sync. Riffs can be set to the sequence tempo, setup tempo (on the common page) or external.
- Sync to any riff/any zone + many sync options (to beat, any beat, etc)
- Realtime transformations of notes: duration, velocity, time offset. (very cool effects)
- Realtime setting of start/stop for loops.
- Create Riffs from sequences - it is easier using a single common sequence and "riff-ify" it by selecting the track/ start/stop tick of interest.
Hard Sync Saw Oscillator:
- The hard sync saw oscillator has been added. No programs using it are in the objects yet due to its birth just hours before the version freeze, Look for new programs using this exciting new VA alg soon.....
4/17/08
Sequencer:
- Count-off is now implemented. It is accessible via the METRO page. From the BIG page, you can set the metronome to Off, Always or Record Only. You can have up to 4 bars of Count-off.
- Now any record-enabled track will have that track's program be auto-embedded into the first tick of the track. It will not automatically capture programs on tracks that have not been record enabled.
- There is a new function called "Keep" on the Sequencer Mixer page which behaves like the Keep function in the KSeries sequencer, meaning that it will embed the Program Change information for all 16 tracks into the first tick of each track.
- Looping is achieved by going to the "BIG" page, turning on "Loop" and setting "Time Out" to the end of your sequence.
Sequencer Bug Fixes:
- The Sequencer will now remember your changes to Tempo, Merge/Erase Mode, Locate etc. even if you say "No" to saving changes to this song when recording a track. When you say "Yes" to "Save Changes to this Song" it will store the parameters with that song.
- In Track Edit, the To/From fields were fixed so that they don't include the first tick of the next beat in the "To" field. This would inadvertently make edits spill into the next tick/beat/bar. Now it works up to the "To" field but not including.
- Standard MIDI File Type 1 is supported for Import and Export. Type 0 is coming soon, but not yet available.
Other Bug Fixes:
- In FX Chain Editing, a message will appear if you try to add more boxes when there are no more available resources.
- The arpeggiator is improved and is disabled when switching between setups. Same is true for Riffs.
- General FX improvement in Setup Mode, including Aux FX overrides.
- KB3 Mode: Programs now come up with the Leslie Speed set to Slow. KB3 Buttons now work in KB3 edit mode.
New Features:
- Program LFOs and tempo-based FX now Sync to external clock.
- Demo sequences are now assigned to the first 16 pianos, and the Rhodes Electric Pianos. Strings, Voices, Synths, Pads, Guitar, Bass, and Drums are also mostly covered at this point.
Soundware Object Changes:
- Piano Programs 1 and 2 have been swapped.
- We've updated some of the onboard sequences and added more, especially for the Piano and E. Piano programs. More coming soon.
4/4/08
Program Mode:
- Everything in program mode is now working. Cascade mode, VA1 oscillators, new 4-pole Moog type Lowpass filter, and many new programs.
Syncing LFOs:
- It is now possible to sync both LFO 1 and 2 to the system tempo. Turn the LFO rate down to zero and you'll see you can select 1/4, 1/8, 1/8tr and 1/16 note values.
Setups:
- Setups are working and there are 24 factory setups now. Simply press the Setup button to enter Setup Mode. Select setups with the spinknob, +/- buttons, or by number with the keypad. The factory setups are complex. Many use arpeggiators, others utilize multilevel velocity switching of layers and the new "Riffs" feature. Every zone in a setup can have it's own riff - a completely independent sequence.
- There might be some issues with over-riding aux effects in setup mode. This will be cleaned up in V1.1.
Quick Access:
- Quick Access Banks are now available. The first 2 are loaded with great synth/lead sounds using the PC3's VA-1 features plus there are 4 more with other categories of sounds. Navigate the current bank in 2 dimensions with the cursor buttons or select directly with the numeric keypad digit buttons. Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to the left of the display to change banks.
Panic! :
- Always remember the PANIC button. If you encounter a hung note or an audio glitch, hit panic to clear it out. When non-editing pages are displayed, the center button under the display will silence everything if you get lost (reverb and echo effects will continue to decay naturally). Pressing the "+" and "-" buttons together will do the same thing regardless of the display mode.
Sequencer:
- Song mode is now up and running with basic track editing. Importing and exporting type 1 MIDI files now works. Unlimited tracks works, with independent MIDI channels per track. A few key items are not ready, but will be included in an update asap. These are: 1 bar metronome count-off, swing quantize and event editing. Chasing controls will be available in V1.1. One big improvement is volume control - when you raise/lower the volume on a track, you'll be changing its post-fx signal not the pre-fx signal. (Opposite of how the K26 worked.)
General MIDI:
- We have included the old PC2 general MIDI drumkits up in the 900s. Full GM compatibility will come in V1.1.
KB3 Mode:
- Up and running. Leslie speed can be controlled via the front panel switch and also by Sw Pedal 2. Only minor glitch right now is the Leslie speed comes on fast when a program is selected. Note there are new KB3 programs starting at ID# 897. Leslie speed ramp time has been cut down to around 3 seconds.
VA1 Oscillators/DSP:
- The saw and square use 2 (out of possible 4) units of VAST DSP. The good Pulse (PWM) uses 3 units. Make sure to select "none" for a keymap, and you'll probably want to set the envelope to "user" right away. For saws and squares, Alg 6 works well. The good PWM requires cascade mode if you want to run it through the bigger filters. Note the 4 block Moog type 4-pole Lowpass Filter as well as the 2 block Quantize and 2 block Wrap.
Cascade Mode:
- The Cascade mode algs (very much like triple mode on a K26) start at ID 101. Each corresponds to its non-cascade equivalent. For example, alg 102 is a cascade mode version of alg 2. On the Alg page, select which layer you want to have running through your cascade layer with the "Alt Source" parameter. Make sure to turn down the Amp volume on your source layer if you only want to hear what's coming out of the cascade layer.
Entry Values in Program Mode:
- To capture entry values for sliders, go to the CTS page, which is to the right of ProgramFX in the program editor. The soft button next to it "SetCtl" allows you to capture the values of your sliders, Mwheel and MIDI 29.
Master Page:
- Intonation tables, velocity maps, pressure maps, global tempo, tuning and transpose all work now. Waiting for V1.1 for the drum remap feature, which will allow you to have drums programs remap to conform to the GM configuration. Note - you can hit the "save" soft button to save all Master table parameters - saves the programs you have assigned on all 16 channels.
Effects Page:
- The Effects button is located just below the Quick Access button. Allows you to disable/enable effects. Allows control over multitimbral operation in program mode. Similar pages exist in Song and Setup mode. Aux fxmod over-ride is coming in V1.1.
xD Memory Cards:
- The PC3 can recognize sizes of up to 256 MB.
-END-
